The top of his head is a little bit messily sculpted. The clothes creases’ sculpt is very detailed. The shading is very well done – the hair in blue and the clothes in very light purple. I particularly like his facial expression. I am a fan of long white haired characters and the angel wings are a big plus. This is one of the most beautiful figures I own. I have him displayed on the highest shelf. As he is leaning a little bit forward he is best displayed and viewed above eye level.

I find it cool to have such a tall sitting figure but not too tall as it just fits inside of a Detolf. Not too much to cause concern but still worth noting. One downside to it though is that it doesn’t sit perfectly flat so it wobbles a little. The circular base has a white printed design. The assembly is pretty straight-forward but some force was required in order to get the pieces to fit perfectly in place. The figure comes in 5 parts – circular base, clear perch, main figure body and 2 wings. There are different rhomboidal textures on the box alternating between matte and gloss and the manufacturer and copyright information is properly on the box and on the bottom of the base of the figure. I was initially concerned it might be a bootleg but if it is, these are the most diligent bootleggers out there. Also every box on the internet of this figure I found had a removable white sleeve around it but this one didn’t come with one. I found it interesting that it wasn’t sealed on the sides only the flap was sealed. Yue comes in a huge box (length 38cm, width 28cm, height 32cm). You can see a 360 view of him under the spoiler. Ootengu and the comments let me know of the wonderful world of shopping on taobao through a proxy and wouldn’t you know it Yue was on there (as Hobbymax is a Chinese manufacturer I am guessing). Then I wrote a review of a figure not in the database of Jr. There was a point this year when almost all listings disappeared as the release date of Chii ( ITEM #693386 ) approached - a similarly posed figure by the same creator and manufacturer. Of course I found out about it too late when it was sold out everywhere and the preowned listings were much more expensive than market price. This figure just ticks a lot of aesthetic boxes for me and I had to have it. I have no nostalgic attachment to the source material and I did not grow up with it like many people did. I found out about the existence of this figure through the picture of the day on the front page here on MFC and instantly fell in love. ( ITEM #464229 ) – just a heads up this is a picture heavy review.

However, Tomoyo's and Meiling's crushes were easier to understand considering the rush of emotions and sensations humans experience growing up and even more so from their perspective of admiration toward their cousins whom they love.Hello, today I will be reviewing the 1/8 scale Yue figure from Card Captor Sakura by Hobby Max. It also forces us to face the slightly incestuous crushes throughout. And can we talk about Meiling Li? I love the addition of her as a character.

Same with all the extra cards she gets to catch along the way in the anime as opposed to the few in the manga, they were a great addition. I am also a big fan of Tou-Yuki, so of course, I love that the anime gave us more of them than the manga did. It gave us time to get to know, appreciate, and love each character more. While I love the subtlety of the character development in the manga, the anime did bring all of them to life in a much more rounded way. With the Cardcaptor Sakura anime, the aesthetics remained, and with Tomoyo around, it was not hard to bring all the beautiful outfits to life. I think the style is one of the most beautiful I have seen throughout, and it never ceases to catch my eyes and wish I could have all the outfits, magical devices, and weapons used throughout. The character designs are simply sublime, and the fashion & subjects explored just adds to the overall beauty and mythology. Hands down, CLAMP's art is beyond beautiful. I think the anime also makes some scenes and moments easier to understand & much more grandiose, like the battle against Yue and bringing forth the seriousness of all that could have been lost. At its core, the main story is the same, but the anime does a fantastic job of expanding on it and toning down the uncomfortable aspects of it. Anyway, I have rewatched the anime multiple times, and it was finally time to fully delve into the source material itself. It is no mystery this is my favorite anime ever (along with Digimon, of course, ahem…). And so I have decided to start off with my ultimate favorite magical girl: Cardcaptor Sakura.
